Stewie Meets New Friends by Melissa Seitz is a delightful story about Stewie the Speedboat that takes young readers through some exciting and adventurous journeys. Stewie is the new blue shiny boat on Lake Lee Lee. Though he is happy to have a new home, he feels something is missing there. Stewie remembers all his friends from his old home and feels sad. He goes in search of friends and runs into Patty, a pink pontoon. She takes him with her and introduces him to all the other boats in the lake. Finally Stewie is happy in his new home and he can't wait to wake up the next day to play with them.
The story conveys a good message and the concept is helpful to kids. The pictures are bright and colorful and give pace and movement to the story. The small boats all have a personality of their own which makes them lovable and adorable. It will make a good bedtime storybook for parents and grandparents to read to their kids and grandkids. It is a good story for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries.
Storybooks with a good concept and message are excellent to introduce to children when they start reading. Stewie makes an effort to reach out and make friends with the other boats so that he does not feel lonely. It is a good message for kids to reach out in new places and make new friends.
