College student Annalisa Turner is having trouble deciding what life direction she wants to take. Sure she is pretty and has an outstanding bubbly personality. But Annalisa just can’t decide what to major in school and decides perhaps owning a gym might be more to her liking in the future. But after hearing about a prison ministry, Annalisa has a desire to know more about her birth woman, who is in jail for kidnapping her as a baby. But Annalisa has a habit of getting herself into trouble by being too nice to strangers and perhaps meeting her real mother isn’t such a great idea. Still Annalisa plunges forward on the idea and visits her incarcerated mom. But opening the door for a reunion with her birth mom only invites trouble as Missy Blake gets released from prison with only one objective and that is to take advantage of her naïve daughter for all she is worth.
"Never a Starless Sky" by Sharon Mcanera is a fast read into the life of Annalisa Turner, who at times seems like an air head with a good heart. This tale takes an interesting twist when Melissa Blake enters the scene with her wise cracking devious personality and Annalisa’s Christian desire to help the woman make a fresh clean start through church, faith and prison ministry. But Missy Blake wants no part in changing her ways and the fireworks only get brighter as the past seems destined to repeat itself. An interesting, different kind of read.
