The cover of Stamped on Every Child's Heart was the first thing that drew my attention. While I don't have children, what I see around us in the world every day, where children are being neglected or abused, committing suicide and killing others, made me want to read this wonderful book by Rebecca Dawson so that I could gain some insight into what she had to say. At the perfect length of 112 pages and packed full of biblical scripture, this was a great read. Dawson starts out by explaining that as a parent you're up against far more than you can handle on your own, and that even when you're exhausted you have to keep loving your child. She weaves in the story of Abraham taking his only son Isaac to the mountains as a sacrifice for God to explain how His promises are delivered in God's timing and with His plan as a blessing.
I liked the encouraging words carved out for emphasis among the chapters; "Be there for the children in your life," "Use God's Armor to Protect You and Your Child," "Children Matter to Jesus" and many more. Stamped on Every Child's Heart also deals with ADHD and impulsive behavior in children and provides some treatment strategies such as "Stop and Think" and relates the impulsiveness of a child to the impulsiveness of Jesus' disciple, Peter, who struggled with the same thing. Rebecca Dawson ends the book with a beautiful prayer for you and your child.
