Spookiest Lighthouses by Terrance Zepke is an intriguing informational book which introduces the reader to historical landmarks, some architectural buildings and information, as well as a paranormal concept.
Most readers love tales full of exciting facts, history, and a good background story. The author provides all three within the ten lighthouses described in great detail. For example: Terrance Zepke provides readers with a picture of the lighthouse, present day tourist information, a historical background, and a ghost story (paranormal concept) for each one. By providing the present day information such as location, year built, specifications for entering, and hours of operation, the book allows readers to become more interested in further reading and perhaps a tourist visit to the lighthouse. Offering the background story and paranormal concept for these "haunted lighthouses" allows readers to prepare themselves mentally, emotionally, and perhaps physically for such a visit. Tourists can possibly experience for themselves seeing an apparition (a soldier, perhaps?), hearing different unusual noises, and even experience a smell that is not suppose to be there.
There have been murders, executions, and fatal accidents within these lighthouses; each contain their own unique past, and possibly a ghostly resident. Terrance Zepke has written a wonderful, informational piece about historical, scary, and haunted lighthouses. I enjoyed learning about them in the present day and in the past, as I believe readers of all ages will. Those who enjoy the architectural greatness of lighthouses, historical reading, and paranormal activity won't be able to put this book down.
