These stories all take place in Quitman, Texas, and all focus on people and interactions associated with the Speakeasy Coffeehouse, a place where lives intersect and mysterious things happen. The Royal Glitch by Jean Pamplin, Courageous Hearts by Janet Ellington, and Something Almost Heavenly by Delia Latham will entertain and inspire you as you follow the journey of their characters and hear the truth that sets them free.
The Royal Glitch by Jean Pamplin introduces us to the Speakeasy Coffeehouse, its owner, and those who work there, including Maeve and Mitzey who don’t seem to belong at all. Kelly, the coffeehouse owner, purchased an old Royal typewriter at auction and seems to have gotten more than she bargained for. This entertaining story puts a new twist on the familiar question of time travel while telling a delightful, well written, and well thought out story of love, hope, and restoration. Courageous Hearts by Janet Ellington is a tender story of loss and love found. BrookLynn Laird is a widow of two years, struggling to find out who she is now that she’s alone. Will she ever be whole again without Daniel? After a chance meeting with Nelson Wright, a retired international photographer who runs a photography studio, she finds herself attracted and feeling guilty about it. Something Almost Heavenly by Delia Latham is the ribbon that ties these three stories neatly together. Mary Manners runs the bakery a few doors down from the Speakeasy Coffeehouse. Mary is someone that needs everything in order and explainable. When she meets Miss Angie, almost nothing is explainable. A wounded and skeptical Mary transforms before your eyes in a beautifully written and well-developed story that will inspire and satisfy.
Each author has carefully and beautifully developed stories with continuity and flow as you delve into the different lives and stories that share common threads. Well written, entertaining, uplifting, and inspiring are accurate words to describe these stories that blend and complement each other flawlessly.
