Space Toads: On the Moon by S.M.J. Rigstad is a fun children's book about ten toads that live on the moon. The toads all love eating cheese, which is why they live on the moon. One day, a toad named Tom saw a mountain of cheese he'd never seen before, with a cheese tree on top. Tom climbs the mountain, but becomes too greedy, and eats the entire tree. He gets so fat that when he tries to walk down the mountain, he ends up rolling right off the moon. The next day another toad, named Todd, sees a mountain he hadn't seen before, and he also ends up eating too much, and rolls off the moon. This happens to all of the toads and soon there are no more toads on the moon. Where do all of the toads end up?
I really enjoyed reading Space Toads: On the Moon by S.M.J. Rigstad. The book is very well written and descriptive. I liked that every toad has a different personality and appearance, for example one is clever looking, and one is silly looking. The book teaches the importance of not being too greedy. I liked that the book is kind of repetitive in that every toad ends up rolling off the moon. The repetition makes the book more fun to read, and makes it an easy read for younger children. I really liked the ending, because it was funny. Children will enjoy reading this book and will want to read it again and again. I would definitely recommend this book to all young readers.
