Song For Someone is a fascinating love story of two people who defy the odds. It's the first book in the Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler Mysteries by KD Sherrinford. It follows Charlotte Sapori, who learns her parents' long-kept secret. Charlotte knows her mother, Irene Adler, also known as Nene, is a renowned opera singer, and her father, Lucca Sapori, does important government work, a position he rarely speaks of to anyone. Her brother, Nicco, thinks their father is a spy. However, moments before her death, their mother confesses that she kept a private journal in which they can find the whole truth about her and their father and what they've been through to protect them. Charlotte shortly learns that Lucca Sapori is not her father's real name, that he is the world-famous detective Sherlock Holmes. She also learns what brought her parents together and about the day that everything changed for her mother.
Powerful and romantic, Song For Someone by KD Sherrinford is a novel to savor. This delightful read has enough mystery, romance, and darkness to intrigue all readers. It's gorgeously written and gave me what I wanted from a love story. I loved that the profoundly meaningful relationship between the world-famous detective Sherlock Holmes and the acclaimed contralto Irene Adler was treated patiently. The dangers that lurked around them kept me engrossed for many hours. Readers craving a story about a friendship that blossoms into an enduring love will be enchanted by Song For Someone. It offers complex characters who show remarkable courage under great adversity.
