Solar Warden: Book Three - Genesis by Peter Fuller is a captivating work of military sci-fi. Earth is in danger of being invaded by hostile extraterrestrial beings. These beings are far more intelligent and advanced in technology than humans. But our military force will not back down and will go to any lengths to ensure Earth's safety. Fifty marines have been deployed over four light-years from Earth to infiltrate the enemy facility's perimeter and set charges around the power plant. This will aid the Solar Warden carrier, Archangel, in moving into position and destroying the rest of the facility. But, without warning, the marines find themselves pinned against the wall by the enemy and under attack from all directions. If Solar Warden continues to suffer defeats like this or fails to destroy the source of the recent deadly attacks, then being overrun by the enemy will be inevitable.
The plot was easy to follow from the first chapter, and the transition of events was flawless. I was always on my toes, wishing that humans would develop weapon technology to match that of their enemies. The characters were well developed, and any reader will have their favorites. Lieutenant Colonel Richardson and Commander Steve were two of my favorite characters. These two are newlyweds whose love will be tested many times. The author's straightforward explanations of complex concepts were a particular highlight for me. Whenever a technical subject appeared in the plot, Peter Fuller used simple, understandable language to educate and inform the reader with key terminology and concepts. Solar Warden will appeal to readers curious about UFOs, American military history, and space exploration. It also includes fast-paced sci-fi action that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Pick up a copy and enjoy.
