Snow Frog Birthday Adventures by Stanton Barrett, from the Snow Frog Series, features Snowfrog, a cheerful young frog who is about to turn three. This birthday will be special as Snowfrog is awaiting heaps of gifts from friends, a special gift from his father and even hot ice cream! Snowfrog prepares a long shopping list for his dad in preparation for his big day. He cannot wait to go skiing with his dad afterward. He even imagines flying through the sky as he glides down the slopes of the mountains while his friends watch him. The big day arrives and, one by one, his friends arrive, each carrying a gift for their friend. The last to arrive is Lilo, his snail friend, but at least she gets to the party. A surprise, however, awaits the young frog.
Beautifully illustrated and colorfully designed by Vladimir Kirichenko and Baris Celik, Snow Frog Birthday Adventures by Stanton Barrett is a whimsical story that every child will love. It features adorable and unique characters that include frogs, snails and even bugs. The best part is the surprise at the end which adds an unexpected twist to the plot. Snowfrog’s anticipation of the events made me anxious along with him for his birthday party. The close relationship that he shares with his father provides a point for bonding between children and their parents, especially their dads, while reading this book. Snow Frog Birthday Adventures is entertaining and appealing to young children. It also contains amazing illustrations and beautiful background colors.
