Sleepy Hollow: Rise Headless and Ride by Richard Gleaves is the story of Jason Crane, the last surviving descendant of Ichabod Crane. Jason lost his parents and now lives with his adventurous grandmother. One day they up and move to Sleepy Hollow where, together with another couple, they get drawn into a quest to find the Horseman's Treasure. Jason discovers he has a gift, a gift that turns out to have been handed down from generation to generation - he can see the past when he touches things. This gift both helps and hinders him as he learns to be the new boy at school again and begins to have doubts about the quest to find the treasure. What follows is a story of lies and deception, sadness and triumph as Gleaves takes you on a hair-raising ride through the world of Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman. It's all a myth, though - isn't it?
Richard Gleaves has given us an exceptional follow up-story in Sleepy Hollow: Rise Headless and Ride. Set in the modern world, it's a continuation of a story that started many years before, one that is nail-biting and exciting all the way through. There are no dead bits to the story, each and every page relates to the final chapter, drawing the reader seamlessly into a well written and cleverly woven tale. Richard Gleaves has clearly done his homework here. The facts are all there and the whole story is designed to draw you along with it, racing to the conclusion - where a sequel awaits! I can't wait to read it, especially if it is as good as this one.
