Kerry had just arrived home from her brother Jordan's wedding when she was kidnapped by the son of a man whom Jordan put in jail. Her brother Rick calls his friend Luke and asks him to find her. When Luke arrives at the remote cabin, Kerry has already escaped and is running through the woods. Luke intercepts her and becomes her bodyguard for the duration. He stays with her at her house while she teaches school until she receives roses from her kidnapper. Then he takes her to his ranch to keep her safe until the day she decides that all this has to end and she has a plan to lure Chris into the open. With the help of her brothers and her sister in law, they set out to trap her stalker. Now she has to wonder if love and her faith will be enough to keep Luke with her.
Kerry's family has very strong faith. She was brought up to always ask God's help in making decisions. Luke's father was a preacher but cheated on his wife and Luke blamed him for his mother's death. So, Luke turned his back on God and didn't see any reason to turn back until he met Kerry and saw the peace she had from leaning on the Lord. This is the second book in a series but can very well stand on its own. The use of scripture really suit the storyline. Kerry stood firm in her belief that couples should not be unequally yoked. Strong values and convictions are present throughout the story. Love and suspense abound in this book full of Christian values and convictions. In short, a heartwarming feel-good book, worth the time set aside to read it.
