SEO - The Sassy Way to Ranking #1 in Google - when you have NO CLUE! A Beginner's Guide to Search Engine Optimization (Beginner Internet Marketing Series Book 3) is a nonfiction internet marketing guide written by Gundi Gabrielle. Gabrielle is an author, internet entrepreneur and a former Carnegie Hall conductor and concert organist, whose blog, SassyZenGirl.com, is focused on travel and lifestyle. The author realizes that most bloggers get cold chills at the thought of SEO, and they usually put it off as something to be explored at a later date, preferably much later. In this guide, she offers the reluctant blogger any number of compelling reasons why procrastination will more than likely end up making them spend more time later on than if they do it right the first time. She also shows that optimizing SEO is really not as hard and arcane as most people believe. From a concise explanation of what ranking is, and why it’s so important, to selecting and properly using keywords, Gabrielle makes no assumptions as to the reader’s prior experience with SEO, and she sets out clear and simple instructions for every step in the process.
Gundi Gabrielle’s nonfiction business guide had me intrigued from the moment I first read her title. I was indeed one of the clueless for whom the term SEO inspired thoughts of fear and loathing. Any remaining hesitation I harbored over the concern that the presentation may be yet another dry and impenetrable treatise were instantly dispelled as I started reading the first few pages. Gabrielle enjoys sharing her knowledge about the subject, and her instructions are easy to follow and fun -- yes, somehow she makes SEO an enjoyable exercise that actually makes sense. I appreciated the many links to relevant articles and resources that she provides, and I loved the fact that she shares her contacts for those aspects of SEO where hiring a professional may make more sense. The layout of this book is perfectly suited for the task at hand and includes illustrations and diagrams that make following her instructions quite easy. Not only does she give the reader a clue about ranking, she demonstrates how a bit of applied effort and knowledge can land a blogger in the coveted number 1 ranking.
