Sensitive Warrior: 10 Ways To Respond When You're Called "Overly Sensitive" is a work of non-fiction in the advice and guidance and self-help sub-genres, and was penned by author Julia Rose Wild. Focused specifically on those amongst us who feel very deeply and empathetically, the work examines the culture of our world for blocking our voices and downplaying emotions, and how that can affect those of us who may feel ashamed to truly express ourselves. Laced with humor, wit, and wisdom, this is a book that explores the author’s own experiences with shame and sensitivity and transposes that first-hand experience into a wider realm of observations on how to find, use, and celebrate your voice.
Author Julia Rose Wild has crafted a book that will resonate with many readers out there and is sure to become a staple in their self-help arsenal for the future. I very much appreciated the no-nonsense narrative, which feels as though you could be there in person at a seminar, and uplifts the reader with forceful encouragement to negate all stigma and make their voices heard. The author gives a great deal of herself to the book with her personal anecdotes and experiences, which makes it all the more emotionally resonant and allows us to see a model of how we too can make an impact in today’s world of willful ignorance, fake news, and hate speech. Overall, I would highly recommend Sensitive Warrior: 10 Ways To Respond When You're Called "Overly Sensitive" to anyone for whom the title resonates because it will deliver a frank, funny, and fresh approach to the problems you may face in life.
