Timothy Gray has hit a grand-slam home run with Seek Ye First The Kingdom. He talks about contentment as only one who experiences the joy of contentment can. He must practice what he preaches. This book covers the issues faced by most people and the struggle they tend to have with being content. God tells us to be content with what we have, but most of His followers struggle with discontent. Tim goes over the reasons many are not content and how to learn to be thankful and content with what God gives us. Many people today do not know there is a difference between “wants” and “needs.” Too many think their wants are needs and therefore are not content. Gray says, “Sometimes our greatest need is to know what our greatest needs really are.”
Timothy Gray is not a pastor in the ordinary sense of the word, but he has a pastor’s heart. He does not preach at his readers but shares truth from the Word of God. He simply opens the Word and shares his heart. Seek Ye First The Kingdom is encouraging and inspirational. It shows the pathway to a life of contentment. When one has finished this book, one is equipped to live a life of joy based on contentment. If one is not content, one cannot genuinely enjoy this life. When I reached the end of the book, I turned the page and was disappointed that this terrific book had ended. I was left wanting more. I pray Gray will author more books in the future. I look forward to ordering the books he has already written.
