“Scotsmen Prefer Blondes” is about ladies who want to follow their dreams and goals, but they have to do it secretly because of the period (1800s) they are living in. In this story we meet Amelia, who is a writer, and Prudence, who is a historian. It was when Prudence was pretty much forced to marry Malcolm, because he wanted an obedient wife, that Amelia tried to step in and help her friend. But when Malcolm and Amelia saw each other, the attraction began to build and sparks started to fly so much so that Amelia ended up having to marry the man herself. And as Malcolm soon found out, Amelia was anything but an obedient wife.
Sara Ramsey captures her reader’s attention again in this second book in the 'Muses of Mayfair' Series. With unique and believable characters so well-developed and playing their parts so well, I found it difficult to put the book down. The story moves forward and conflicts come to the surface, and then the secrets make their ugly appearance, making the situations more intense and tensions grow stronger. Amelia’s beauty and spunky attitude was the main thing that kept me reading because I wanted to find out what was going to happen next to her. And there are certainly many twists and turns in the story that will keep you turning the pages. Sara Ramsey is a new author who is establishing herself firmly on the list of historical fiction authors. I enjoyed this well-written story and would like to add that the vivid details of the historical setting in Scotland was an added delight as the pages unfolded. If you enjoy historical fiction, you will find “Scotsmen Prefer Blondes” a delightful read. Pick up a copy soon for your own enjoyment. You will find it a wonderful read.
