Say You’re One Of Them is a collection of stories told through the eyes of children. Children are remarkable. They have a wisdom and strength that few adults can match. They can face agonizing situations and preserver. Each of the 5 stories is set in war torn Africa. In “An Ex-Mas” a young girl must prostitute herself to support her family. “Fattening for Gabon” is the story of children being sold into slavery by an uncle. In “What Language Is That?” is the story of two friends separated by religion. “Luxurious Hearses” is the story of a child trying to escape religious persecution. “My Parent's Bedroom” is the story of murder told through the eyes of a child.

The images invoked by these stories will stay with the reader forever. They are not pleasant images. Too often we are skimming through a glossy magazine and run onto a picture of a child with a swollen belly. We quickly turn the page so we can forget the look of hunger on the face of the child. We cross the street to avoid a beggar. We try to ignore what we do not want to see. Say You’re One Of Them refuses to allow us to turn a blind eye on the plight of children in Africa. These poignant stories are well written. The reader’s voice compliments the stories. This is an audio book you will want to share with others.
