Satori Ananda: Awaken to Happiness by Michael C.W. Tranmer is the memoir of a man's journey from an ego-driven manner of living to self-awareness and living in the moment. As a successful marine engineer, Michael Tranmer and his wife lived an active and satisfying life in Canada's Pacific Northwest. Recently, they had been discussing changing up their current lifestyle and having children, so when his wife left him out of the blue, he was shocked and hurt. It was so unexpected he reeled in agony for months. What had happened? Could he have prevented it? Determined to understand what he had or hadn't done to drive her away, Michael began to journal, analyzing his actions, reactions, and feelings. While searching for answers, synchronicity went to work, and Michael encountered people and media along the way that opened a new world for him. The end of his marriage initiated the beginning of his awakening and the pathway to his bliss.
In the poignant memoir, Satori Ananda: Awaken to Happiness by Michael C.W. Tranmer, the author's search for enlightenment is the millennial equivalent to Elizabeth Gilbert's book, Eat, Pray, Love. It is a compelling narrative, and I applaud Mr. Tranmer's courage in sharing his motivating story with the world. Embracing his experiences and how they translated into self-awareness, the book is an inspiring reminder that experiences aren't really bad or good, but a journey. It is an impactful story of personal loss and spiritual development, and I recommend this outstanding autobiography to those who love reading candid stories of real-life experiences that kindle personal growth.
