Sarah & Katy and the Book of Blank (Volume 2) by Julie Stroebel Barichello is an exciting adventure story for children. Katy and Sarah are bored one afternoon. They have nothing to do and Sarah pulls out a book from the shelf, a book which their aunt and uncle had given them for Christmas. The book has a strange warning: 'If you turn this page, there’s no turning back.' They turn the page and what happens next will keep readers glued to the book when they see the two sisters filling the blank pages with their own thoughts, ideas, and imagination, along with a narrator.
Readers will find themselves on an enchanting adventure with these three where their ideas come to life when put on paper. The concept is original and very innovative and will encourage readers to dream and imagine. The illustrations are delightful and they give life to the author's thoughts and words. I enjoyed the author's narrative style. Every detail shared with readers is descriptive, making the book visual and tangible. The two sisters and the narrator draw scenes onto the blank pages where thoughts and ideas come alive and take flight.
I recommend this book to all children as it is helpful in developing their minds and thoughts in an encouraging way. The Book of Blank will fill the minds of readers with imagination and ideas that will make them want to reread it again and again so that they can have more adventures.
