Same People, Different Vision by Cathy Dimarchos is about creating a harmonious and synchronized working environment. This book has topics on teamwork and good communication. The author explains that for good communication to be achieved, the leaders should be able to listen, not to respond, but to understand. Everyone in the workplace should have the same goals and morals. The author also covers the topic of change and listening to feedback from employees. She states that leaders should know their employees personally and learn their strengths and weaknesses to help them best utilize their skills and have a high-performing workforce. In conclusion, she talks about sharing knowledge and the power of encouraging affirmations. All employees and supervisors should be mentors and ready to teach and learn from one another.
Same People, Different Vision: Developing Leaders of Today to Shape a Better Tomorrow is well-written and structured. Every chapter begins with an introduction and ends with a summary of the main points covered in the chapter. The bullet summaries at the end helped me remember and reflect. Cathy Dimarchos has done her research and has personal experience in this field. This is evident in her passion and the examples she gave from personal experiences. The book is not repetitive and is well-edited. Finally, I would recommend this book to people who wish to start a company with workers who will share the same goals and morals and to people who want to have better communication and work harmony in their companies.
