Saga: The Brave by Quincy A. Mosley is an original fantasy that introduces readers to an exciting world and to a compelling young protagonist. Archelo is the son of a knight and while he is of noble birth, his life is just as ordinary as any person’s life. But then he faces situations that set him off on a journey that will test him in many ways and reveal his strengths and qualities. It is the first book in the series and a strong opening for fans of fantasy.
Quincy A. Mosley is a good storyteller and has a unique flair for world-building. When I started reading this book, I thought it would be a saga, but it turned out to be a story set in the imaginary and exotic world of Sagacia. Silverone is a nation in Sagacia and the author does a wonderful job of making this world come alive in the imaginations of readers. The characters are rock-solid and real. The young protagonist is a character that I adored, thrust into the normal circumstances of life, and tested by adversity. It is interesting to watch him grow as he faces each challenge in life. The narrative is done in a voice that is strong and clear, pulling the reader in, and allowing the worldview to come out in a gripping way. Saga: The Brave is a tale of bravery, deftly written, and featuring characters that readers will love and a world they will want to explore. It is fast-paced and hugely entertaining.
