Sade on the Wall by Kaylene Campbell is a young adult novel that follows Sade saving Jackie, her best friend, from a secret she thought wasn't a big deal. That's until Jackie had gone destructive. Sade depended on their code of secrecy until she realized the only hope she has is the secret she's been hiding all along. Will Sade able to save her best friend?
I loved the plot--it's very realistic. Just by reading this book, teenagers like me can definitely learn from others' mistakes. Besides that, I also loved that this book shows the value of friendship and family. Not only did it express the values mentioned, but it raised awareness concerning drug use.
As for the story elements, the plot was full of thrilling twists which made the story intense. Moving on, the characters are well developed. They had the emotion I'm looking for in every book I read. The characters were so good that I felt like I'd known them for years. I highly recommend this book. You won't regret reading it and somehow you'll get something from it.
Overall, the story was amazing--inspiring rather. Actually, it was one of the best books I've read this year. A big factor that helped me enjoy this book was that I have a best friend who has the same attitude as Jackie but she doesn't take drugs. I highly recommend this book to teenagers. This can definitely open their eyes to how drugs can impact one's life.
