Elaine White was born and raised in the small town of Haddington, Scotland. She began writing from an early age when she thought that she would have written differently passages from the books she was reading. At the age of 14, she tweaked existing stories to experiment with various writing styles. Eventually, this led to her taking a Creative Writing course and writing her own stories from scratch. Now, she finds inspiration everywhere, which has lead to numerous novels and series ranging from college romance and crime to the supernatural world of witches and vampires. Elaine currently lives at home in Scotland with her parents and boisterous poodle. She is a full time student and full time writer.
Elaine White is an author of everything from paranormal romance, containing witchcraft, vampires, werewolves and magical school, to crime with master criminals and secret agents. She specializes in anything with a hint of romance.
Elaine currently has two stories released, the first being her vampire novel Runaway Girl, which is the first in a six book series called the Secrets of Avelina Chronicles. The second story is a short story to accompany Runaway Girl, as a 1.5 novel to the series. The story is called A Heart That Cannot Beat and is contained in the Valentine's Anthology Novel Hearts, released by Write More Publications.

In Runaway Girl, Lucius, leader of the vampire clan, wants his daughter Amelia to take over his reign alongside Damian, a half-blood. Unfortunately there are several problems. Amelia’s soul is scattered and resides in several human females, which they must find first in order to fuse Amelia’s soul whole again. Another problem, perhaps the hardest one, is Damian’s reluctance to accept Amelia’s return to the clan, let alone rule it together with her. Yet, Lucius is adamant and their search for his daughter’s soul begins. First installment of The Secrets of Avelina Chronicles, this vampire-themed paranormal novel is written by Elaine White.
Due to Amelia’s soul being broken and residing in several people, there are several ‘possible’ humans vessels which leads to several female protagonists. I think Elaine White did well in maintaining good transitions from one female lead to another without overwhelming the readers with each of the characters’ details and story points. I instantly gravitated towards Maria, a human that advocates vampires just like her late mother. Her personal belief in treating humans and vampires equally is risky but admirable. It is unfortunate that she suffers betrayal from the very species that she has helped throughout her life. I find myself caring for this character more than the other female protagonists.
The prose is excellent; it is straightforward yet deft enough to make the reading flawless. The chapters are comfortable lengths – not too long yet not too short either. All in all, a good start for a series and no doubt it will garner loyal fans in no time.
