Rocky the Rocketsaur: The Musical Clouds of Slumberdee, written by Eleanor Oberio and illustrated by Marian Elaine D., is a fun and colorful adventure children’s book series about a dinosaur named Rocky. He was saved by an alien from outer space, by the name of Mr. Shu Lai, when Rocky was just a baby still stuck in its egg. Rocky has a special gadget that enables him to see kids who need his help with a particular problem. In this story, Rocky is going to help a little girl who doesn't want to get ready for bed. If Elbel could get her way, she’d stay up all night and play!
This engaging children's story is told in a way that will grab the attention of many kids and perhaps even perk up a few tired adults along the way. There is always something extra special and interesting when a dinosaur is one of the main characters of a book. The illustrations created by Marian Elaine D. are colorful and add an extra layer of depth to the storytelling. One particular illustration that I fancied was one of Rocky scooping up a pink cloud from the rocket that also turns into a backpack at the press of a button. There is a lot to love behind the story-telling of Eleanor Oberio’s Rocky the Rocketsaur: The Musical Clouds of Slumberdee and it will easily garner the attention of the young and those who are still very young at heart. Also a treat for kids who love dinosaurs!
