Sometimes an adventure seems to be over but instead, something still awaits the characters. This happens to Maggie, the young protagonist of Return to Zentobia, the second volume of the Journey to Zentobia series by Stacy D'Alessandro. Maggie and her brother Peter have just returned home when a friend, Santori, begs them to go back to Zentobia, a world you reach through a rainbow portal. Santori asks them to help her rescue her mother and find the Book of Magic. Once in Zentobia, however, Maggie and Peter will find that their new adventure will be more complicated than they could have imagined. Will you follow them on their journey?
A lot of things go on in Return to Zentobia. A villain to defeat, magic, betrayals, unexpected encounters, and much, much more are the ingredients that make this book spectacular. D'Alessandro wrote a story that any young reader with an adventurous spirit will love to read. Even I, who am no longer a young reader, was curious to get to the end and find out everything that awaited Maggie, Peter, and the other characters in the story. D'Alessandro is a writer who has exceptional writing skills and a vivid imagination. She definitely knows how to keep the reader's attention. My recommendation is to read the previous volume as well, not only because Journey to Zentobia is a series, but especially because it would be a pity to miss part of the adventures of Maggie, Peter, and the others. Return to Zentobia is a fabulous book, and I hope you enjoy it.
