Reported Missing by Sarah Wray is a good read. When Rebecca’s husband goes missing the same day as a 14-year-old girl, he is presumed guilty until proven innocent. Rebecca, however, chooses to believe that her husband is innocent. With the help of too much alcohol, Rebecca decides to investigate her husband’s disappearance herself. She does not know what she will find; she only knows what she does not want to find.
Fans of The Girl on the Train will enjoy Reported Missing. It is similar yet also very different to The Girl on the Train. I personally liked this book very much. I started off feeling sorry for Rebecca, only to become annoyed with her drinking. She kind of deserved some of the things that happened to her. Later, I grew to admire her for sticking to her beliefs. I tried to imagine myself in her situation, and I was not sure how I would handle it. Her situation did remind me not to push away people that care about you. Some of the things she stumbled upon were a little unbelievable, but were still entertaining. I do wish there was a little more detail in the things that she discovers. At the end I was left with more questions than answers. However, that is exactly what Wray intended. Just like Rebecca, I can only imagine what has happened. Overall, this is a good book! I am glad to have read it. Wray has gained a fan in me. I will definitely check out the other books that she has written.
