Immerse yourself in a fascinating collection of short stories with Vera Mont's Ramblings. Two warmongering nations cause ordinary citizens to lose the privileges of groceries and beer. A person learns the goldfish language to communicate with the residents of an aquarium. A cat owner underestimates the hunting prowess of their pet. A man fulfills his bucket list after reaching the summit of a mountain with his girlfriend. The trees learn to get rid of their painful memories with the help of their Maker. After being put on hold for a long time during an application process, a caller becomes disillusioned with the very idea of heaven. Four hundred years after the sinking of a Spanish galleon, the ship's figurehead finally realizes her dreams. A series of mishaps involving machines take a man to a place devoid of them.
Ramblings is yet another enthralling short story collection by Vera Mont. Traversing various genres, Mont delivers an absurd, surreal, hilarious, and, above all, thoroughly entertaining collection of tales that pull your emotions in wildly different directions. While some of the tales in this book span multiple pages, others are flash fiction stories of around a hundred words or so. However, every single one of these stories will have your attention on lock, and after finishing one, you can't wait to start reading the next one. If you're someone who likes a quiet evening read, you will immensely enjoy this collection. I have always found Mont's stories to be interestingly unpredictable, and this collection is no different. All in all, this is a treat for short story lovers.
