Life is poetry and poetry is life. "More than words upon a page/ Images/ That Last..." These are powerful words that express all that life is, from the simplest activity of coloring with your son, to the battlefield where knights of old fight for both love and honor. And then there are just words to express emotions: "Write Write Write away/ Sorrows and pain/ To get through another day." Words are like music, reflecting the bird's songs and other sounds of nature, or simply conveying the soothing strum of the guitar strings.
Poet Michelle Murray has collected a selection of poems that reflect an interesting study of life and fantasies in Rainbows And Dreams. Her poems are pictures, little snapshots of life, feelings, emotions, fantasies and much more. Just like the title Rainbows and Dreams suggests, life is a series of rainbows that reappear after each rainfall and dreams/ fantasies that help us steer through the murky waters of life and help us "Dare to dream/ Keep believing."
This collection of poetry is both soothing and inspirational. The gentle, simple messages conveyed in Michelle's words can cheer the reader, or help the reader plough his/her way through difficult situations. The poems are sometimes whimsical, as in a dream or a fantasy, and these poems serve to entertain and take the reader on a pleasant journey far from reality, where the distinction between good and evil, right and wrong is much clearer. The poet has a wonderful command of language, with good use of similes and metaphors to convey her message. A pleasant book to read and enjoy.
