The book follows the story of a man named Howard Questor. He is a skilled thief and criminal; however, he seems to feel unsettled about his life of crime. During a fateful run his team of thieves had with the authorities, Howard seeks out a friend who informs him that he is the byproduct of a scientific experiment by a large government agency. The reader follows Howard as he learns more about his involvement in the experiment and becomes familiar with the person responsible for his creation. This involves a large amount of travel and coming across a host of characters who always seem to come full circle within the story. Howard even becomes involved in a complicated romance that only further gets complicated later in the book. Later Howard will indirectly make a huge contribution to the world of science himself.
This book is a great read and was difficult to put down. It is reminiscent of many books attempting to create the perfect utopia or being. I found myself wanting to know more and continually being sent on new twists and turns in the plot. I would definitely recommend this book to readers and also recommend to pay close attention to details as most details and characters come back around within the story to play a greater purpose.
