Queen Vernita Meets the Wandering Buffalo is a children's adventure book by Dr. Dawn Menge. In this installment, Queen Vernita and her best friend Debbie set out to visit their friends and family in the small town of Wandering Buffalo, Oceaneer. Seeking out the best hotel in town, The Quickdraw, the two friends soon take up snowshoeing in the mountains, looking for moose and elk antlers. Queen Vernita also gifts Abby with a brand-new pink ukulele. As the months pass, the Queen and Debbie go hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding in the Bighorn National Park, where Patty, the forest ranger, introduces them to the majestic wild buffalo. They also learn to milk cows and churn the cream into butter with Paul, the lumberjack. Over the year, Queen Vernita and Debbie develop a close bond with nature and its inhabitants.
Queen Vernita Meets the Wandering Buffalo is an engaging story showcasing the importance of wildlife preservation. Dr. Dawn Menge sheds light on the beauty and significance of our surrounding flora and fauna with an adventure tale about two friends who discover the wonder and joy of exploring wildlife and living a life close to nature. Although primarily an educational book, Queen Vernita and Debbie's friendship adds a wholesome feel to the story, making it immersive and captivating. The striking illustrations also splash color onto the pages and make the characters come alive. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to kids of all ages. So hop on for an adventurous ride!
