Princesses Don’t Have Sticky Hair, written by Angela Castillo and illustrated by Cher Jiang, is a short children’s story full of funny little mythological beings. Fairies that may do some homework, dragons that might toast a marshmallow or two for their friends, brownies that love an art day in the forest, and other adorable quirks. The pictures of the sweet little creatures tell the story well through images so that a child can easily follow along while being read to or learn the words as they identify with the ideas in the illustrations.
I absolutely loved Princesses Don’t Have Sticky Hair by Angela Castillo. This is a beautifully crafted bedtime story that is sure to make children smile as they drift off to sleep. The characters are fun and delightful creatures that participate in some odd activities to keep little readers laughing and ready to move to the next page. The illustrations by Cher Jiang are bright and colorful so that children will be easily entertained by the fun words on each page. Princesses Don’t Have Sticky Hair is very suitable as a bedtime story that will lull a child to sleep as they are being read to. The sentences are short with easy to sound out words that could help children learn and expand their vocabulary at an early age. I recommend this story to anyone with young children that enjoy a sweet little fantasy tale that is fun and entertaining as well as relaxing.
