Princess Rouran and The Dragon Chariot of Ten Thousand Sages is a young adult fantasy adventure by Shawe Ruckus and is the first of a series. The death of her beloved father Morris - a museum curator and historian - brings Moli to England, where she delves into the history of the Rouran dynasty. Moli learns of her connection to the Rourans and somehow finds herself following an ancient dragon to the Hall of the Ten Thousand Sages. After encountering a host of otherworldly magical creatures, Moli runs into the Rourans, who mistake her for a female shaman. She witnesses the Rourans' conflict with the Gaoches firsthand and does her part to ensure that the Rourans prevail. Now, back in her world, Moli and her aunt Edith must team up with Kiza and James to save the world from a historical evil. Will they succeed?
If you love to read adventure stories featuring dragons, shamans, talking cats, and other fantastical elements, Princess Rouran and The Dragon Chariot of Ten Thousand Sages will be just up your alley. Set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shawe Ruckus highlights some relevant real-world issues in this epic fantasy saga that grabs your attention from the first page. Ruckus packs a lot into the narrative, not wasting words to get into the thick of the action. The reader will be transported to a magical world where anything is possible. I enjoyed the book very much and recommend it to young adult fantasy lovers.
