Posie Pixie and the Torn Tunic: Book 3 in The Whimsy Wood Series by Sarah Hill is another adventure story about Posie Pixie where young readers are taken into Whimsy Wood with Wibble Woodlouse. Posie is enjoying the beauty of autumn in the wood, picking and filling her basket with blackberries. She sings a happy song while doing so. Wibble Woodlouse is visiting her cousins who live under a lime log in the middle of the wood. Suddenly Posie notices her basket moving in the air. As she goes around filling her basket with blackberries, a lot of interesting things happen to Posie, making it an adventurous and magical trip.
I am enjoying this series on Posie Pixie as it not only narrates a magical story but also speaks about the value of being friendly and kind. The entire story is filled with whimsical moments that are very exquisitely expressed by the author. Kids will love Posie Pixie's adventures and her interaction with the creatures she meets while picking blackberries. The illustrations are as magical as the story and they complement the author's words nicely.
The subtle message of friendliness and kindness makes the book even more memorable. The author's style of narration takes you back to those days when Enid Blyton's books were every child's favorite. The autumn mood lends color and radiance to the story, along with Posie Pixie's endearing acts. It's a series worth owning in one's personal collection as it teaches kids new ideas and concepts, and makes them more creative and aesthetic in their thinking. An enchanting story that will take kids on a magical adventure.
