Pivot Point: True Time, Book 1 is a novel of romantic suspense written by Tess Manchester. U.S. Marshall Blake Parsons and her team have followed the trail of a vicious fugitive to a small town in Tennessee. Blake knows that he’s been there, and that he must have sought medical attention for the wound she had given him in their recent encounter. The residents of Pacific, Tennessee were in no mind to help law enforcement from the big city, however, and it seemed that any efforts Blake and her team made would be hampered, if anything, by their attitude. Then Blake met Dr. Naomi Preston, and suddenly she had an ally. Naomi had been married to the doctor Blake suspected had treated Robert Canton, the fugitive who had slaughtered an entire family. While the hospital had no records of his treatment, Blake knew that records could be altered, and Naomi was able to confirm that Dr. Lancaster hadn’t been honest with the Marshall. Blake was determined to get this man. After her recent disciplinary matter, her future seemed to depend on it just as much as her own personal motives for getting violent criminals off the street did. Nothing -- not even a burst dam and a catastrophic flood -- would stop her.
Tess Manchester’s novel of romantic suspense, Pivot Point: True Time, Book 1, is an intriguing and fascinating blend of the police procedural, romance, thriller and paranormal genres. Blake Parsons’ gift of pivoting back from the present into the immediate past is a most valuable one; one that every soldier and law enforcement officer should have in their arsenal. Seeing how she uses that gift to fine-tune her approach to apprehending Robert Canton is entertaining indeed. Manchester’s plot is fast-paced and exciting, and her characters are well-defined and engaging. The growing relationship between Blake Parsons and Naomi Preston is a joy to behold and adds dimension to this powerful story as the two become a dynamic and committed team. Pivot Point: True Time, Book 1 is most highly recommended.
