Pink and Purple Bob was a small dog who loved pink and purple and would wait all day, not playing, just so he could see some pink and purple things. He would sit on the windowsill to spot his favorite colors. He even looked for a mouse to help him in his mission of finding himself some pink and purple objects. He’d cry and make a scene until he saw the colors he longed to see. His little mouse friend looked everywhere and found Bob a pretty pink ring. She found him a purple ball, a pink straw, and a hat, among many other things. Bob was overjoyed at his new collection of pink and purple things. The mouse got annoyed with his obsession with pink and purple things. When the mouse saw how happy Bob was wearing the stuff, she finally agreed that he looked great in pink and purple. Bob realized his friendship with the mouse meant more and he shared his windowsill with his new best friend. Only she was allowed to touch his pink and purple treasures.
Pink and Purple Bob is an adorable read as well as being very unique. I love how Bob is a boy dog but he loves pink and purple. His relationship with the mouse is cute and it has a valuable lesson at the end. Friendship is more important than objects. The illustrations are very well done and fit in with the storyline perfectly. Crystal Napolitano has done a wonderful job of bringing this cute story to life. It’s definitely a book I would recommend to my friends with young children.
