Piercing The Celestial Ocean: The Saga of the Cerulean Universe Begins is a work of fiction in the science fiction and adventure sub-genres and was penned by author Kip Koelsch. In this fantastical galactic adventure, we find ourselves witnessing the clash of two very different worlds when the space travel vessel Endeavour collides with a stasis pod that is not of this world, perhaps not even of this universe. What begins then is a clash that takes us to two different civilizations, each with whispers beyond their own, and dreams of crossing the great Celestial Ocean to discover the other types of civilization that may lie beyond it.
Author Kip Koelsch has crafted a masterwork of immersive and descriptive science fiction and space opera story, one which is sure to draw readers in and never let them go. I enjoyed the individual character arcs of the cast members very much, particularly Ekels and his journey to redemption. The P’nesian society was very well-formed in terms of its world-building, and the social structures and groups around them made it feel like a real world that we learn about as the story moves forward. This journey of discovery is accompanied by immersive, descriptive language, and the author also utilizes dialogue really well to deliver large amounts of plot exposition without giving the work that slowed-down feeling. Overall, I would highly recommend Piercing The Celestial Ocean: The Saga of the Cerulean Universe Begins for readers who enjoy wide-reaching science fiction with fantastic outer space concepts and new worlds to enjoy.
