Pernicious Intent (Miami Book 1) by GR Case is a fast-paced action novel. The last time that Special Agent Diehl worked with Perez and Reese was a few years back and he has decided, against his better judgement, to partner them together again. They are working for the Drug Reactionary Task Force, an elite part of the DEA. They are looking to bring Tyrus Miller down and stop him from bringing in new drugs; in particular one called Smile G. Smile G is a designer drug doing the rounds on college campuses and in the Florida nightclubs. Smile G is a simple patch that takes all your troubles away. Enter the DTRF, a team that works from what looks to be nothing more than a run-down warehouse but is, in actual fact, a state of the art facility, well hidden and filled with cars, military weapons and vehicles, and a full forensic laboratory. This case may be the one that makes them break out the big guns, in more ways than one
Pernicious Intent (Miami Book 1) by GR Case lives up to its action genre all the way. This is one of those books that will suit all readers’ tastes and will, I guarantee, have you hanging onto the edge of your seat, biting your nails in anticipation of what is to come next. Mr. Case has taken us on a long and dangerous journey inside the life of a drug lord and into the minds of the characters. It has been done in such a thorough way that you almost feel that you are living the part of the characters, and that is the sign of a good writer, a person who can draw the reader in effortlessly and make them a part of the story. Thoroughly enjoyed this and looking forward to book 2!
