"Pedophila: A Cause and A Cure" was one of the most unusual books I have read in a long time. It is an autobiography by Steve A Mizera, who is a convicted sex offender. He himself had been a victim of abuse by nuns in the Catholic Orphans Home and sodomy by a Catholic layman in charge of a boys sleeping ward. Both his parents and brother abandoned him at an early age. All of this led to psychological damage, causing him to be a loner without friends and family to lean on. He became a sex offender and spent several years in prison.
Don't be turned off by the subject matter of this book. It is an amazing story of a man who was abused as a child and then became an abuser himself. While in prison for a sex offense he had to hide the reason for his incarceration as many with this label were killed by other prisoners. Being out of prison wasn't much easier as he struggled to find a job, a family, and forgiveness. Steve A. Mizera has written a compelling story offering the cause and cure of pedophilia. He advises parents to be very wary of who watches their children.
