Pawn of Innocence by Chameleon is a book about a rich girl named Camile. She hates the way she feels trapped by being wealthy, not understanding the reasoning of her father for sheltering her so much. She will stop at nothing to take back control of her own life when she meets a tall, dark, and romantic stranger that she hopes will be the answer to her stresses. She makes some bad decisions that ultimately lead her down a path she wishes she had never taken, though, and finds herself in a mess of lies, secrets, and deceit. When everything finally catches up to her and the secrets come out, she is not sure whom she can trust anymore. Somehow, it seems like the only person she can trust is the enemy.
Pawn of Innocence is riddled with adventure, romance, and intrigue from start to finish. It did not take long at all to capture my interest. Once I got going, I could hardly put it down. I just had to find out all the secrets that were being kept and why. It is not a typical love story as in so many other books, and that impressed me greatly about Chameleon. The twists and turns are quite entertaining, once you get all the characters sorted out. Some of them I did not see coming, which was nice for a change. I recommend this book to anyone looking for something that does not follow the typical romance formula.
