Brenna Jacobson, aka, B J has saved all year to be able to take her Appaloosa stallion, Cloud on the trail ride in Colorado, only to get there and find out she is not allowed to ride a stallion. After much discussion she was allowed to bring up the rear. She is very outspoken and used to getting her way. ay. BJ saw a picture of a picture of an old cabin at the beginning of the ride. She felt a strange connection.

BJ keeps lagging behind. A storm was brewing when she came upon the cabin. She took refuge in the barn. She plans to wait out the storm and catch up with the group when it subsides. The next morning, she hears voices and opens the barn door to greet her group, only to step out into a full working ranch in the 1800’s.

As she searches for a way back to the future, she makes friends with the owner’s daughter. She begins to feel at home. She doesn’t know how to tell the people she is not from their era. The adventure continues with a threat from a jealous woman, to being kidnapped several times, to a run in with a grizzly bear. BJ will have to adapt to survive the wild west. Women do not act the way she acts.

Michelle Bettencourt combines just the right amount of humor, adventure and romance to create an entertaining read. BJ could not stay out of trouble. I found myself laughing out loud from several of her antics. Past Transgressions is a great read.
