Pandora's Lunch Box: Don't Open! by Richard Clark is a lovely fantasy tale about a curious young girl named Pandora. Pandora wants to know everything, and is curious about everything, but she probably shouldn't have taken the school bully Randy's sandwich so that she could see what was inside it. He gets mad, and Pandora's enemy, Lexy, tells him where to find Pandora. Pandora is mad at Lexy, but then she finds a lunch box with the words 'don't open' on it. She opens it. The lunch box has genies inside. She had wished for revenge on Lexy, but she didn't think that it would actually come true. Her wish comes true, and Lexy's head shrinks. Pandora feels bad about her wish, but no matter what she says, her wishes just make it worse. Will Pandora be able to fix it?
I really enjoyed reading Pandora's Lunch Box: Don't Open! by Richard Clark. The book is an absolute page-turner, and will leave the reader wanting to know more. I was hooked by the first page. The book has many funny parts that made me laugh out loud. Pandora is a very likeable character, because she's curious and brave. The book teaches that you should always be careful of what you wish for. The occasional picture really adds to the plot, and helps to show what the genies look like. The book is well thought out, and the author clearly put a lot of time into developing the story. I liked how all the genies had different personalities, which made the story funnier. I would recommend this book to young readers.
