Out of the Darkness by Clarissa Clarke is a fantasy story for children that will take readers on an exciting journey filled with suspense, fun and adventure. Three friends, Alec, Aleena and Verity, set out on a search throughout Earth to find the weapon that can help them get rid of the dark realm where the negative spirits live, unaware of the existence of the light realm where positive spirits are. As they go on their journey to accomplish what the four races - the Dioniks, the Merpeople, the Dragons and the Entosh could not do - they are caught in a world where there are real monsters, light balls, and many other unpredictable things. Will these three friends be able to ward off the negative forces and dispel darkness using their psychic abilities and energy?
The essence of the story is the struggle of good versus evil and light versus darkness. The positive energy of light is stressed in many areas of the story, making readers aware of the power of light and positivity. There is a lot of action and movement in the plot and all the characters are well sketched, making them memorable. The story has many layers to it, making it a compelling read, and the spiritual vibes that run subtly throughout as the story unfolds are fascinating. The narration is detailed and descriptive and pulls readers in from the start. The story is fascinating and the open ending makes readers curious about the next book, to learn more about Alec, Aleena and Verity’s adventures.
