Since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, life hasn't been the same these past couple of years. In Our Breaking Point, Treena Wynes explores the impact of this global pandemic and how it has changed the course of so many things for the future. After the arrival of COVID-19, Wynes suffered three major blows in her life -- the cancer diagnosis of her husband, her son needing professional help due to depression, and the loss of a job she loved. Drawing from her own personal experiences, the author delves into the pandemic's impact on relationships and how it created occupational burnout. It's still to be seen whether using technology for work and school has made the world better or worse. But not everything is lost, as a major shakeup is probably what the world needs to push for change.
Everyone you know has gotten sick or lost some loved ones to this deadly pandemic that swept across the world. Through Our Breaking Point, author Treena Wynes reflects upon the physical, mental, and long-term societal ramifications of a calamity, the likes of which most of us had never seen before. She touches upon the increasing usage of social media and substance abuse amongst the general populace after being forced to be stuck inside their homes. There has also been an increase in the discrimination of minorities as social media has only emboldened the fringe elements, who have somehow become more overt in their hateful propaganda. An informative and illuminating read that I highly recommend.
