Oh Daddy Chronicles 2: Return of Covfefe by Barry Robbins satirizes the 45th President of the United States, of whom the author is apparently not a fan. The ex-president has moved to Florida, but hasn’t changed a bit. Each chapter (Robbins calls them “episodes”) is essentially a short skit, complete with stage directions, that subtly ridicules “45.” Some episodes are “Who Needs Twitter,” “Vladimir,” and “Reinstatement.” One example from the book is how does the My Pillow guy know that the former president will be reinstated on Aug. 13? This is how: the expiration date on his Pepsodent toothpaste is that date and “Pepsodent” sounds like “president.” As the author notes, there is some profanity, although no more than one would expect in a work of this sort.
Be prepared to laugh out loud as you read this book. It’s downright hilarious, although supporters of a certain ex-president may not always think so. The author has a superb, quirky sense of humor. Think of the Far Side comics and you won’t be far from Barry Robbins’ type of comedy. Especially if you’re not a supporter of the former guy, combine your feelings with Robbins' wit and you’ll find his book uproariously funny. The Epilogue is one of the most creative parts of the book. It explains what will happen, in the writer’s gifted mind, to the most prominent associates of the former president. This book would be excellent to have on your nightstand—you’ll laugh yourself to sleep. I highly recommend Barry Robbins’ Oh Daddy Chronicles 2: Return of Covfefe.
