O-B*tch-uary, written by Ticia Rani, tells the tale of a loving wife and mother, Olivia Carpenter, who was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. The story starts off with Olivia’s medical appointment regarding a questionable lump on both breasts. From doing absolutely normal things on a regular day, or as normal as it can be, anyway, to cancer wreaking havoc and changing her plans drastically. Not knowing if you will live another day is better than being labeled terminal. Join Olivia on her journey to discovering and accepting fate as it is, coupled with the turmoil of daily life, with the help and support of her loving husband, friends, and family.
O-B*tch-uary by Ticia Rani is a beautifully written story about Olivia Carpenter’s journey of discovering cancer and coping with the news through her own mechanism. O-B*tch-uary is a really fun read with loads of sarcasm and wit, but at the same time heart-breaking when things take a darker turn when cancer is put into the equation. It was clear that Olivia had an inkling of what was wrong with her body, but treating each day as another normal day is one of the most common methods of coping with anything called terminal, which is highly relatable to those that struggle with something similar. I loved the notes that were included about Olivia's thoughts throughout the entire book. I also loved the mundane actions that Olivia did that seemed so insignificant after the diagnosis. The ending to O-B*tch-uary is wholesome and heart-wrenching, expressing that life is too short for regrets.
