Nunzio Sabino's rise to the head of his mob family is remarkable. Setting himself apart from his friends at an early age and fueled by revenge for his lost love, he ruthlessly takes out any suspected rival in his path. Now surrounded by his trusted friends, it is only natural to relax and enjoy the fruits of his labor. Unfortunately for Nunzio, his rise has come at a price and somewhere in his past, some old foes will not go quietly into the night. With the Satan's Knights pushing for more turf and his family growing by the day, will Nunzio be able to stay ahead of the competition, especially when a familiar face from his past resurfaces to settle old scores in Nunzio's Way by Nick Chiarkas?
For a novel with so many moving parts, it is impressive how Nick Chiarkas is able to weave his story around his principal character, take it out on a subplot, and comfortably bring it back to the main storyline without losing a reader. The cast of characters at the start of the novel is a masterstroke, making it easy for a multitasker such as myself to put down this interesting novel for a while yet return to it like I never missed a beat. The origin stories of the characters are impressive in terms of their originality and the fluid manner in which the subplots connect to the main storyline is simply breathtaking. This is a really good book as far as thriller and action genre novels go and the attention to detail in terms of the era is simply stunning. Nunzio's Way is a lovely effort by Nick Chiarkas which deserves all the plaudits it receives.
