No Room for Numbers: The 123s ask the ABCs to Share Their Song by Kaine and Duds is totally silly. In the spirit of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, the numbers try to finagle their way into the alphabet song that every child learns in school. As the letter A says, the numbers just aren’t letters. Long live the difference! These unique letters and numbers have distinct personalities. You can see it in their faces. The numbers try cooperation, insults, and creativity. The letters try being bossy, possessive, and loyal. The combination succeeds! A new song is born!
In No Room for Numbers by Kaine and Duds, the letters love their song. They’re all in it, and they’re not letting any numbers sneak in. No matter how nicely or logically the numbers ask. The alphabet song is sung to the same tune as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. The letters like things the way they are. The arguments between the letters and numbers are funny, yet endearing. Even the worst insult turns out to be a love note. For every child who has ever wanted to be in with a gang when they’re not wanted, this story will give hope and a smile. G plays the guitar. B bounces a basketball. The number 1 adds originality. The number 4 dances. The art creates yet another playful layer to this tale of rivals working together. The humor will have adults as well as children smiling and singing the new song.
