Vera has gone missing, and her husband is desperately looking for her. This leads him to look for Jake, as he's convinced that Jake is connected to the disappearance of his wife. Jake and Vera had been lovers. They had a lot in common, but they put a stop to their affair. Davison and Vera had a child called Devon, who was disabled. The challenges of raising Devon and his subsequent demise put additional strain on their marriage. Davison is unwilling to leave any stone unturned in the search for his wife, which forces him to seek help from her former lover. What is the blue flower mentioned in Vera's journal? Is it a clue to something bigger? To find out how things unfold, get a copy of Night and Its Longings by Philip Cioffari.

Night and Its Longings is a wonderfully written page-turner that kept me on the edge of my seat. The unexpected twists and turns in the flawlessly flowing plotline kept me intrigued and looking forward to subsequent chapters. I loved the steady narration and the writing style, which was crisp and highly engaging. The characters were also well-developed, with an interesting and unpredictable nature; for instance, Vera's journal revealed she was still in love with Jake despite the many years that had elapsed. Philip Cioffari also used suspense to great effect. The attention to detail and the vivid descriptions of events and emotions of the characters also added to the overall appeal of the book. I am looking forward to reading something else by this talented author.
