Newton the Newt (Adventures of Newton the Newt) by Anar Mammadov is an adventurous picture book for young children. One day, whilst the Brown family was getting ready to sit down and eat dessert, there was a knock at the door. Mr. Brown wonders who it could be, and is surprised when he opens it and is greeted by a little newt dressed in a gown. The newt introduces himself as Newton and explains his reason for visiting the Brown family. He informs them that he is experimenting with apple pies and had been told that the Brown family had the best in town. Mrs. Brown agrees to Newton's experiment and allows him to sprinkle some of his special green powder onto her freshly-baked apple pie, but something happens - something troublesome! The pie begins to expand until it is the size of the Brown family's home. What will they do with all of that apple pie that has now taken over their house?
Newton the Newt (Adventures of Newton the Newt) was a lot of fun to read. The story is imaginative and will attract the attention of any young reader. The main character Newton is adorable and brings humor to the story as his experiment goes wrong, which will surely have children laughing their heads off! As well as being an entertaining story, I also found an educational aspect. In the end, when they come up with a solution to their rather big problem, the townspeople come together and show that anything can be overcome if you have good people surrounding you. I loved every page of this wonderful book and I will be reading it again. Congrats, Anar Mammadov, your book is going to be a huge success with children.
