Lovers of all things magical will be entranced by Kimberley Paterson’s Mysty the Mystical Unicorn. Mysty takes us on a journey through a vibrant world where one can munch on starlight, befriend a playful fairy, and believe in making beautiful dreams come true. We witness Mysty’s many powers, like changing colors and flying through the sky. We also explore the magical world that Mysty inhabits, filled with moonlit towns, cheerful singing, and lots of pinks and purples! As Mysty speaks to us, we are encouraged to pursue and make our dreams a reality. This story is vibrantly illustrated and accessible to readers of all ages.
Mysty the Mystical Unicorn is an incredible journey for unicorn lovers of all ages. Kimberley Paterson and illustrator Ava Jahani bring a stunning world to life throughout its pages. Jahani’s watercolor art is breathtaking. Between the detailed paintings of Mysty, the villages of the unicorn world, and every magical moment in between, I found myself wishing I could hang the pictures up in my home. The fun and freeness of Mysty's world come to life, and I enjoyed watching this unicorn sing and frolic so expressively. I loved how Mysty fearlessly races through her world, encouraging us to share our dreams and overcome challenges. With a positive message for young readers, it would work well for a group story time read and has a good letter size and word difficulty level for early readers to attempt on their own.
