Mystery Force Volume 1: Books 1-3 of the Mystery Force Series by Ted Neill is an outstanding children's book filled with action, mystery, magic, friendship, and peril. Volume one of the Mystery Force Series contains three books that are related to one another. Book 1: Mystery Force Assemble! follows Rasheed, Jonathan, and Josephine (Jojo) as they try to rescue dozens of previously unknown magical creatures that were being kept in a factory and forced to work. In Book 2: The Case of the Stolen Horn, Rasheed, Jonathan, and Josephine have another mystery to solve, but this time they have two new magical friends by their side, Maximilian the firefox and Dan the Karkadan. Finally, in Book 3: Blazing Blizzards, the kids prepare to solve their third mystery: why does the heaviest snowfall on record take place in May?
This is the first time I have read a book about kids with disabilities and magical animals who go on adventures and solve mysteries together. Mystery Force Volume 1 by Ted Neill is a classic that highlights compassion, selflessness, diversity, and bravery. It's about reducing prejudice and discrimination and refusing to let your disabilities manifest as handicaps. This middle-grade adventure is a testament to the power of friendship, vulnerability, and acceptance that will spellbind any young reader. It contains plenty of adventure and interesting, magical creatures who help in making the world around them more inclusive. I hope the fourth adventure of Rasheed, Jonathan, and Josephine and their magical animal helpers will be nearly as entertaining as the previous ones.
